Article:
The rotary engine is a masterpiece of engineering marvel, put inside a body that to this day can attract glances with a ten year old look. The FD3S is a piece of drifting art from the land of the rising sun. Mazdas last turbo model of the rotary demands much attention if called upon for power. Cooling being such a problem to this machine its odd how this design can be around for all these years, tuners love it. With the release of the RX-8 on american soil, Mazda plans to revive the rotary once again.
With a vision to build such a car and motor to back it up, Travis Higa and the Hypersports crew forged a prime example of a japanese supercar. Notorious for building automotive masterpieces of the import kind Hypersports as a shop is legendary in the 808 state, and is also part of the Racesauce family. Serious power demands a serious turbo and the job went to an A’PEXi AX75 tubo kit with a v-mounted chiller and radiator, very custom. The entire team worked toward the completion of this car to decimate on the track and in the showroom. Adorned with many A’PEXi parts the car shows off its beauty with the help of C-West, Rays, Bride and Takata, flowing to the sound of other JDM pieces. With carbon fiber thrown in here and there this car becomes even more sexy.
Hypersports gave us the opportunity to find out what rotary is all about, allowing for some needed track time and Racesauce was there to cover much of the sideways action. Video will come soon along with pictures from the event. Mad props to Hypersports Racing for laying it down rotary style and hooking it up. Attracting attention comes free from such a wonderful car moulded to perfection.
