“2004 SUPER LAP SERIES,” --- STREETCAR ROAD RACING

Honolulu, Hawaii. February 5th, 2004.

The Drift Session, LLC. proudly announces the 2004 Super Lap Series, bringing amateur road racing back to Hawaii Raceway Park. The Super Lap Series will consist of a six- event season in 2004: April 17, May 8, August 7, September 18, October 30, and December 18. All events will run from 9am – 3pm. A special, required driver’s clinic will also be held on Saturday March 20, 2004 to introduce all Super Lap Series drivers to Time Attack competition and Wheel-to-Wheel Racing.

The Super Lap Series will consist of two types of competition:

Time Attack Competition, where drivers will race against the clock in an effort to record the fastest lap times.

Wheel-to-Wheel Racing, which will pit drivers against each other in an all out race to the finish line.

Time Attack and Wheel-to-Wheel competitors will all be allowed open-track, lapping practice to prepare for their competition categories early in the day. Competition begins in the afternoon with the Wheel-to-Wheel racers followed by the Time Attack competitors. Depending on the number of competitors and the types of vehicles they will be driving, competition categories will be established to keep the racing as fair as possible. A points system will keep track of racers’ ranking during the 2004 season and winners will receive prizes that have been generously donated by our sponsors.

Highlighting the Super Lap Series will be a Civic / Integra “one make” class of vehicles competing in Wheel-to-Wheel racing. All competing vehicles will be built to race spec, keeping everyone safe, while allowing for equal footing in competition.
